We are looking for an External Manufacturing Operations Associate who is rigorous, result-driven and persuasive to join us in our External Manufacturing Department, based in our campus in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role The EMO Associate is coordinating the UCB Vendor Teams composed with members of Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and global supportive functions. The Vendor Team is pro-actively monitoring the performance of selected partners to assure continuous supply of compliant products and services.
Who you’ll work with You will work in a team composed of 20 people, in our campus site of Braine l’Alleud.
What you’ll do
If assigned, you lead the operational management of UCB's basic but key global Contract Manufacturers Organizations & Strategic Vendors, coordinate UCB Vendor Teams, ensure a continuous supply of compliant products and services, support troubleshooting, and conduct product reviews.
You contact and follow up with CMOs or Vendors about surveys, assisting them in completion, and compiling results.
You support EMO Leads in creating and managing Change Controls (CC), including drafting CCs, managing stakeholders, and ensuring actions are completed within deadlines.
You assist in various projects, such as cost of goods reduction, process improvements, and digitalization, and may also assist with operational management reviews.
You manage deviations by transferring problem reports into UCB’s Quality Management System and following up on pending actions.
You check Qualification and Validation Reports for errors and ensure that changes to Manufacturing Batch Records (MBRs) are documented.

You possess a master’s degree in biotechnology, chemistry or biology with at least 3 to 5 years of experience.
You are very motivated and have a willingness to learn and develop within the team and can manage external business partners.
You show an ability to lead multi-functional teams, influence others, hold teams accountable.
You demonstrate non-hierarchical management skills (persuasion), and strong both analytical and conceptual thinking.
You show relevant experience in Project Management and basic financial and business knowledge.
You are Fluent in English (written & spoken).
You are willing to travel a few times a year to visit our CMOs.
