Wildlife Officer

As a Wildlife Officer, you will ensure effective control of predatory wildlife to maximize productivity and smooth operations on our Proserpine prawn farm.
Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll work in a stunning area. And you’ll be working on our 2/2/3 roster so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy everything the Whitsundays have to offer! You will be working from 6am – 6pm.
What does your week look like?
Wildlife Control: Operate firearms and animal trapping devices with a safe, operational, and environmental lens, resulting in no risks taken and minimal equipment and product damage.
Inspections: Inspecting and monitoring ponds for signs of any issues with prawns, water or additions.
Escalation: Escalation of excessive predatory wildlife issues in a timely manner.
Reporting: Keeping good data records and producing weekly reports.
General Tasks: Supporting with any other tasks and jobs that come up on the farm.

In this role, you will need to be fully licenced to operate firearms and animal trapping devices.
