About The Role The Supervisor Parks Infrastructure is responsible for supervision and coordination of the Parks and Reserves technical team, delivering infrastructure programs, auditing and small projects. The role is required to oversee and undertake infrastructure projects as required to support the broader Parks and Reserves team and meet the City of Darwin's strategic directions and objectives. A key component of the role is to provide high level technical advice and to liaise and consult with departments across the organisation and external stakeholders to lead parks infrastructure projects and open space management programmes and to operate as an effective member of the Parks and Reserves Team. Based at the Operations Centre in Bishop Street, Woolner, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing a wide range of technical and project support to the management and planning functions for the Parks and Reserves team. The role will supervise the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of maintenance and renewal of parks infrastructure, including but not limited to playgrounds, exercise equipment, furniture, fencing, bollards and signage, and supervise and allocate staff and resources. Key deliverables for this role will include:
Actively contributing to promoting, planning and implementing Parks and Reserves projects and programs.
Lead and participate in the development of relevant policies, guidelines and standards relevant to Parks and Reserves.
Plan, manage, deliver and report on the Parks and Reserves Capital Works program.
Develop and contribute to procurement activities to ensure best value and compliance with City of Darwin's procurement policies and procedures.
Provide high level advice relevant to all aspects of public open space, parks infrastructure and urban forest management to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders in accordance with City of Darwin's Strategic Direction's, strategies, policies and procedures.
Assist with new Planning and Development applications and offer technical advice on design outcomes relating to ongoing public open space maintenance requirements.
About you You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with sound technical knowledge to provide support and technical advice across a range of key stakeholders. This role will require you to have previous experience leading a team, excellent time management skills and attention to detail. To be successful in this position you will need to have:-
Diploma in Horticulture/Project Management or other relevant qualification
Minimum five (5) years experience in a similar role
Minimum three (3) years at a Supervisory level
Possession of C Class Driver Licence
Possession of a current Construction (White Card)

Competitive Remuneration: A minimum base salary of $92,801.79 per annum plus superannuation (well above award wages) along with district allowance and the option to access generous options for salary sacrificing superannuation.
