We are seeking a Casual Social Worker to join our Allied Health team at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital.

About the Role
We are recruiting for a casual Social Worker to provide cover at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital. The role involves work across our acute medical, surgical and oncology wards.
You will be responsible for providing high quality care to patients and their families within our health service.

About You
The successful candidate will display values of compassion, respect, self-motivation, and professionalism. You will have a passion for providing high quality services to our patients and their families/carers and be a strong advocate with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Member or eligibility to be a member of AASW
Ability to work and contribute to team culture and work within a multidisciplinary environment
Established computer literacy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Clinical skills in comprehensive assessment, risk identification, discharge planning and counselling
Social Work experience in a hospital setting considered desirable, as well as a good understanding of community support services and discharge planning.

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Medical and advanced surgical hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD. The hospital is owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care Limited, the largest operator of private hospitals in Australia. Requirements

Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
