The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Process complex Right to Information and Information Privacy Act applications.
- Research complex legal and policy issues associated with the Right to Information Act and the Information Privacy Act, impacting upon the operations of the Queensland Police Service.
- Provide timely high-level advice to senior management concerning access and amendment to documents, the application of the exemption provisions and public interest factors.
- Negotiate and consult with clients, agents and other stakeholders.
- Conduct third party consultations and consultations on behalf of other Queensland Government agencies.
- Respond to requests for documents and submissions from the Office of the Information Commissioner, in relation to applications for external review.
- Contribute to the development of policy, practice and procedures for the release of information.
