The core capability requirements for this role are:
Process complex Right to Information and Information Privacy Act applications.
Research complex legal and policy issues associated with the Right to Information Act and the Information Privacy Act, impacting upon the operations of the Queensland Police Service.
Provide timely high-level advice to senior management concerning access and amendment to documents, the application of the exemption provisions and public interest factors.
Negotiate and consult with clients, agents and other stakeholders.
Conduct third party consultations and consultations on behalf of other Queensland Government agencies.
Respond to requests for documents and submissions from the Office of the Information Commissioner, in relation to applications for external review.
Contribute to the development of policy, practice and procedures for the release of information.
