TASMANIAN SHIPPING SUPPLIES Purchasing Representative - Provisions Our Company: Tasmanian Shipping Supplies are general ship suppliers specialising in all aspects of ship supply and service, providing a range of products to cargo and bulk carriers, cruise ships, research vessels, offshore support vessels, Antarctic resupply vessels, naval vessels and submarines, fishing trawlers and cruising yachts. About the role: Based in Hobart the role involves quoting and processing of customer orders and purchasing of provisions for supply to vessels. The position involves a high level of customer support and organisation to ensure the timely delivery of vessel orders and requirements. In this role you will be required to: Provide quotations and process customer orders Purchase food products and additional stores Organise customer orders within required timeframes Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers To be successful in this role you will; Be proficient with Microsoft 365 specifically Excel, Word and Outlook Be self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic Able to work well within a dynamic team environment Have strong organisational and time management skills Have the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure Have excellent customer service skills and a professional manner Hold a current driver’s licence Be able to obtain maritime security clearances as required Desirable qualities: Experience in purchasing Strong experience with Microsoft Excel Experience with MYOB Experience within a wholesale food service/supply business A salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience.
