ABOUT THE BRANCH
The Assurance Reviews Unit (ARU) is responsible for commissioning and coordinating Cabinet-mandated Assurance Reviews (Gateway Reviews and Implementation Readiness Assessments). Assurance Reviews strengthen the oversight and governance of major projects/programs and assist Non-Corporate Commonwealth Entities (NCEs) to successfully deliver major projects/programs.
Assurance Reviews are short, intensive reviews, conducted by a team of independent Assurance Reviewers at critical points during a project’s or program’s lifecycle. The reviews provide an arm’s length assessment of the project/program against its specified objectives, and early identification of areas requiring corrective action.
This role will give the successful candidate a whole-of-government policy and program perspective, and experience in the Cabinet and Budget process. This is an opportunity to contribute towards successful delivery of major projects and programs across government, particularly those that are high risk and high cost.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Program Support role will work closely with another Program Support role to support managing the Assurance Reviewer cohort, Review coordination, scheduling and the reporting functions in the assurance team. The roles will also work closely with the Director to modernise business processes, frameworks and systems.
The reporting function will involve assisting the team with preparation of:
- senate estimates reporting,
- fortnightly statistical dashboards,
- ad hoc reporting material for senior management, and
- oversight of the team’s invoice processing function.
The Assurance Reviews Coordination function will involve:
- undertaking or supporting team members to undertake coordination functions to assist in the administration of Assurance Reviews, including resource management, procurement and other functions for which the team has responsibility.
- final level quality assurance for standard template emails, and procurement artifacts.
The Scheduling function includes:
- scheduling and forecasting gateway review work program, including confirming dates, teams and engaging with external stakeholders such as commonwealth entities and reviewers.
- maintaining the Assurance Reviews log and tracker.
- managing Gateway Change Request Process. Resource management
- manage new Assurance Reviewer Applications
- manage the onboarding of new Assurance Reviewers
- manage Assurance Reviewer - Security clearance revalidations and sponsorship
- arrange Forums (reviewers and Jurisdictional Gateway Units)
