People Insights Manager

About the role and team
Our People and Culture Division is focused on driving capability, productivity, and performance, organising ourselves to work together effectively, and making our employee experience better.
The Culture, Experience and Insights team is a centralised function that straddles both People and Culture and Risk to facilitate and manage activity to support the evolution of the culture at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. The team own the data and analytics strategy and the execution that provides people data, analytics, and insights to improve and enable our Group Strategy and People Plans.
We have a 12-month secondment People Insights Manager position available to join the People Analytics and Insights team. Reporting into the Senior Manager People Analytics and Insights, you’ll support with the design and delivery of key people metrics, analytical and statistical analyses, as well as facilitating sharing of data and actionable insights across the Culture, Experience and Insights team, the People and Culture division, and the bank more widely. This position has no direct reports.
Working as an individual contributor you’ll have an employee-centric mentality, be data driven, detail orientated, and striving for continuous improvement. You will bring your curious and innovative mindset to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate between technical and non-technical audiences. This role will create meaningful datasets and data products to provide accurate and valid insights that will shape workforce initiatives and inform our people related strategy.
- As the People Insights Manager, you’ll get to: Act as a steward for all people data, working closely with members of the team to enforce data integrity, quality and cleanliness across all source systems and processes
- Leverage creative solutions, analytics and visualisation/reporting techniques to enhance knowledge and to solve business problems, make recommendations, and generate insights
- Work with stakeholders and People and Systems teams to identify and create important data assets for querying and reporting
- Support engineering teams by creating data asset requirements and acceptance criteria
- Propose and develop ETL processes within the current and future systems architecture
- Work with People and Systems SME’s (subject matter experts) to understand and overcome data and systems process related issues
- Be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions with an emphasis on creating sustainable processes
- Keep stakeholders informed of project and solution progress and make pro-active recommendations to solve business problems
About you
To be successful in the role, you'll have:
- A tertiary degree in Science, Statistics, Engineering, or similar relevant discipline
- Previous experience in a People Insights/People Analytics manager role or equivalent
- Demonstrated capabilities within data analytics, proactively utilising analytics to drive business decision making
- Experience with data visualisations, dashboarding, and presenting insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of SQL, R/Python or another language would be a bonus
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Experience operating in an agile environment
- Basic machine learning or statistical techniques (dimensionality reduction, correlation, regression etc)
- Intermediate capability with MS Office suite particularly Excel
