About the Role:
The Pathology Accounts team is part of the Patient Accounts team at Canberra Health Services which is led by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The Division is responsible for developing and maintaining budgets, financial management, and providing strong operational finance and performance reporting analysis across the health service.
The successful applicant will be required to communicate, negotiate, and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to patients, pathology clinicians, outpatient clinics and debtors. They will also be required to screen incoming phone calls and correspondence, provide debt recovery and invoicing functions, and provide administration assistance as necessary. Applicants will need to be enthusiastic and have excellent interpersonal skills, have a strong understanding or willingness to learn how to process pathology billing in a public health environment and have experience in the use of hospital-based IT systems such as the Digital Health Record (DHR).
