The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
Primary purpose of the role
This position is responsible for leading the delivery of youth and young adult programs and services across the Northern Territory, with a strong emphasis on Community Development. The role involves engaging with local communities and other TSA expressions to develop strategic responses to identified needs, fostering strong relationships with key practice partners.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Youth Services Manager, at our Darwin location. Reporting to the State Manager - Youth Services, this is a permanent, full-time role. The position requires intrastate/territory travel, with potential for interstate travel and some after-hours work.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS award, level 7.
You will successfully

Contribute to the review and consolidation of Youth services within NT
-
Contribute to the planning and lead the implementation of national frameworks and practice within the region
-
Confirm active support for local mission delivery model in the region and participation in local area leaderships teams, ensuring programs are resourced with adequate funding, staff and resources Provide operational management of all Youth services within the region

Maintain service delivery aligns to all aspects of the Youth Services Model of Care

Build and lead a team of social service professionals to deliver services within the region, with a positive team culture that demonstrates the TSA values and mission
You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)
-
Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at relevant experience, including senior management experience

High level understanding of contemporary youth work practices

Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the sector

Relevant state Working with Children Check is required

Current Drivers Licence
