THE INVITATION
Arndell Anglican College invites applications for the permanent fulltime position of Music Teacher, commencing Term 1 2025.
Music education is highly regarded at Arndell and music educators play a pivotal role in fostering student learning and development, nurturing student creativity, academic achievement, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the Performing Arts.
Reporting to the Head of Performing Arts, the Music Teacher will collaborate with the Performing Arts teaching team, other teaching staff and teacher aides to encourage students to grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. In particular the Music Teacher will:
  • Teach curricular music for middle primary to lower secondary (Stage 2 to Stage 4).
  • Design interesting and engaging lessons for students with a wide range of learning abilities and styles.
  • Deliver high quality content to students that is engaging and accessible.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of the Junior School instrumental program.
  • Encourage students to explore and express their creativity through different mediums, such as voice, instrumental, composition, ensembles, and bands.
  • Prepare students and ensembles for performances and productions.
  • Prepare students for national testing, competitions, and examinations.
  • Provide students with clear and fair assessment, including regular, constructive feedback.
  • Play an active role in events not limited to Showcase Performances, Musicals, Eisteddfods, and HSC evenings as required.

ABOUT YOU
As a teacher of Music, you hold qualifications in Education (Teaching) with a focus on middle / upper primary music teaching as well as lower secondary. You are experienced in teaching (and leading) primary instrumental programs, and conducting co-curricular instrumental and / or choral ensembles.
You are goal oriented, highly organised, passionate about the education of young people, able to engage students who possess a range of interests and abilities, able to work collaboratively across the whole school, and are a person of Christian faith.
With the expertise and enthusiasm to contribute to the teaching of Music your collaborative style and professionalism will see you build culture and community within a diverse and dynamic environment.
