About the role Churches of Christ Housing Services is a community housing provider, focussed on providing affordable housing for people on low incomes, are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. Due to our continuing growth and several new developments coming on line we need to expand our current team. (We currently work across South East Queensland but we have a particular focus in the Logan area for this role). This role is perfect for an individual who is looking for a Permanent Full-Time position. As a dedicated and organised Maintenance Officer, your duties will be to undertake hands on mowing, gardening and property maintenance duties across multiple locations Monday -Friday. You will perform a wide range of tasks, as part of your role, you may also be required to supervise other maintenance workers, contractors or trainees. Your days will be varied, but the majority of your workload will be mowing and grounds maintenance and will include (but not limited too):
Grounds maintenance work including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulch application, planting;
Household and garden refuse removal;
Record keeping and maintenance of equipment;
General maintenance work including property repairs, basic fitting installation and cleaning.
About you You are a reliable and hardworking individual who is motivated and enthusiastic with a positive can-do attitude. You enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, however, you are also capable of working on your own. With your commitment to customer service and excellent general maintenance skills you resolve and respond to issues as they arise. You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role. Your ability to work autonomously and manage your own time is exceptional. You have a welcoming, caring, compassionate nature and are ever ready to provide support. To be suited to this position ideally you will have:
Experience working in a high-volume grounds maintenance team;
A willingness to travel throughout the City of Logan as required;
Ability to communicate well with multiple customers;
Experience with gardening power equipment including zero turn ride on mowers;
General handy-man skills;
Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements, or ability to acquire same within one month of employment;

Working with Children Blue Card;
QLD Drivers Licence;
Police check;
