An opportunity is now available for Hospital Assistants to join the General Services team located at Nepean Hospital. Part Time positions are available.
The role of Hospital Assistants is to provide effective cleaning, services to clinical and non-clinical areas, including (but not limited to) Wards, Emergency, Theatres, Isolated Clinical areas, in accordance with infection control policies and procedures in order to provide a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety for patients, clients, staff and visitors.
Working with Domestic Services at Nepean Hospital will see you effectively use manual handling equipment and techniques to reduce injuries, notify supervisor of any maintenance / safety issues which require attention and ensure compliance with safe work practices related to manual handling, safe storage and use of chemicals and other cleaning products whilst managing time and responding to various demands from difference sources.

What you will bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience and ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks in a hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of customers by providing good customer service.
- Demonstrated good communication skills in English and the ability to read and understand essential documentation including safe work practices and infection control procedures.
- Demonstrated ability & capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise time sensitive tasks
- Knowledge & compliance with Work Health & Safety Legislation & Guidelines and Willingness to protect the health and safety of self and others at work, under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to work any shift within a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
