ABOUT THE ROLE
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for interpreting Jacana Energy’s
Strategic Plan into effective marketing and communications strategies to align with organisational
objectives. This is done by setting and delivering the Marketing and Communications Strategy,
identifying clear outcomes and measures of success.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
1. Develop and execute the Marketing and Communications Strategy.
2. Translate organisational strategy and business unit plans into marketing direction and
initiatives.
3. Leadership of marketing and communication planning and activities and providing strategic
advice to the Executive Leadership Team.
4. Lead a team of marketing and communications professionals, providing direction, support, and
standards of performance.
5. Manage the planning, proactive engagement and communications for Government and
stakeholder relationships.
6. Oversee media, both proactive and responsive to ensure positive reputational management.
7. Manage the marketing budget and third-party relationships, including agencies, consultants,
and suppliers.
8. Prepare and support Executive media, Government, and stakeholder briefings.
9. Develop and implement effective community engagement strategies including partnerships and
sponsorships.
10. Build and strengthen brand architecture, narrative, and positioning, ensuring brand is reflected
across customer and employee experience.
11. Design, plan, execute and measure the success and ROI of customer engagement campaigns
across diverse audiences and platforms, including a digital experience.
12. Identify and incorporate analytics and data to inform all activities and the strategy.
13. Comply with the Code of Conduct and all operational policies, procedures, governance
frameworks and guidelines in place across the organisation
SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate must have:
1. Demonstrated experience successfully developing and executing marketing strategy that aligns
with organisational strategy.
2. Extensive marketing and communications experience, demonstrated by customer-focussed
outcomes.
3. Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies and plans that support
business strategy and objectives.
4. Highest calibre written skills, to deliver high quality and accurate communications.
5. Understanding of customer segmentation, targeting, and positioning to deliver improved
marketing ROI.
6. Demonstrable outcomes in event management, community engagement and sponsorship
programs.
7. Superior verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and consultation skills, including the
ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and deliver outcomes.
8. Experience successfully developing and delivering an enhanced customer experience.
9. Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service and operating within the Jacana
Energy values of Honesty, Innovation, Teamwork, Diversity and Employee Wellbeing.
You may also have:
1. Tertiary qualifications in marketing, corporate communications, customer experience, business
or similar.
2. Knowledge of the Northern Territory Electricity Market and/or Australian Renewable Energy
landscapes.
