ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of IT leads the ICT Services and the Projects teams. The role will work closely with
the executive and senior leadership team and will lead a team of specialist to identify, plan
and execute the delivery of strategic initiatives including the ICT transformation roadmap and
business changes to ensure the organisation achieves its strategic vision and objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
1. Formulate and execute a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with the organisation’s
strategic goals and objectives.
2. Lead the ICT operations, ensuring reliable service delivery and identifying opportunities for
technological improvements to enhance business efficiency and competitiveness.
3. Ensure Jacana Energy’s ICT information and assets are protected from cyber threats by
fostering a strong security culture, managing risks, and responding to incidents.
4. Lead and monitor the execution of transformation programs, including planning, integration,
resourcing, and risk management to meet current and future customer needs and financial
and commercial objectives.
5. Build and maintain a performance framework to track program progress, manage risks and
ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
6. Advise the Executive leadership team and Board of Directors and other key stakeholders on
transformation progress, risks and benefits.
7. Develop and manage ICT and Projects budgets, including forecasting and resource
optimisation.
8. Comply with the Code of Conduct and all operational policies, procedures, governance
frameworks and guidelines in place across the organisation.
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Extensive experience in in leading and managing teams in an IT or technology-driven
environment.
2. Proven ability to align ICT strategy with organisational goals and objectives.
3. Demonstrated experience in translating business requirements into technology solutions and
initiatives.
4. Strong understanding of ICT systems, infrastructure, and industry relevant technologies.
5. Familiar with cybersecurity, data management and regulatory compliance.
6. Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendors.
7. Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all Organisational levels and
external partners.
8. Skilled in budgeting, cost control and resource allocation for IT projects.
9. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department,
promoting creativity and efficiency.
You may also have:
10. Degree in Data Analytics, Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance or similar.
11. Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and compliance requirements
(e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
