About the Role Working with the Finance Manager, the role is responsible for the operation of finance functions that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan including leading the:
Manage Council’s payroll and accounts payable functions
Processing, reviewing, and reconciling Council’s account payables functions
Maintain the integrity of Council’s financial information specifically related to accounts payable and payroll with a view of continuous improvement.
Oversee the timely processing, review, and reconciliations within payroll and accounts payable
Ensure our internal and external customers experience meets expectations.
About You To be considered for this role, you must have:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other relevant disciplines combined with at least five years’ finance experience, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Demonstrated experience in payroll and accounts payable operations with at least three years in supervisory role preferred.
Ability to interpret and apply policies and legislation related to payroll.
Ability to identify operational problems or trends, question practices, and contribute to the implementation of appropriate solutions in an innovative and resourceful manner.
Proven experience in payroll processes and related regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to contribute to an innovative and positive working environment that motivates and supports people to achieve high levels of performance.
Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines within a dynamic environment.
A focus on achieving customer-centric results, with an ability to contribute to specific goals and objectives and to align progress towards those ends, taking corrective action, as necessary.
Knowledge and awareness of social, economic, environmental, cultural, and political issues impacting on programs and service delivery.
