Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for an Education Coordinator to join us in a permanent full time capacity. The Education Coordinator Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) will plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education activities and resources to meet current and emergent Mater staff and community learning needs. Reporting to the Interprofessional Education Manager, you will support the achievement of educational and clinical excellence across our Mater Mothers Hospital Brisbane campus and will be accountable for the delivery of education and practice development outcomes and the implementation of High Value Healthcare. Salary range: $61.67 - $69.22 (RN level 3) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing Typical duties of the role include;
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate interprofessional learning and development opportunities and evidence-based resources to meet the needs of Mater and the community
Benchmark education and specialty practices against national and international standards
Develop tailored learning plans in collaboration with stakeholders for staff requiring additional support
Engage in educational research and quality improvement opportunities
Support professional development and performance management processes, assessing staff against regulatory and competency standards
Incorporate simulation methodology to enhance skill, knowledge, and teamwork in an interprofessional environment
Seek opportunities for innovation and improvement in education and patient care practices
Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Facilitators to ensure staff compliance with mandatory education requirements
Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and empowerment
Develop evidence-based assessment resources for staff and students
Develop, implement, and evaluate an Education Plan aligned with Mater's strategic and operational goals
Manage relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to drive change and improve services
Collaborate in the development of policies and practice as an advisor to executives and leaders
Ensure development and succession plans are in place for the role
Liaise with other Education Coordinators and Clinical Facilitators to support skills enhancement and clinical practice consistency
Role model transformational leadership attributes and traits
About you
Current and unrestricted registration and endorsement (where applicable) with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
Postgraduate qualification (preferably master’s degree) in teaching (clinical teaching) or education equivalent
Postgraduate qualification in relevant specialty area or working towards same
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current - desirable)
Knowledge and experience in delivering education and training within Australian healthcare organisations
Innovative approach to achieving education outcomes in support of healthcare delivery
Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 suite, electronic information systems/platforms, and educational theory to develop resources and reporting functions
Strong time management and organizational skills
In-depth understanding of contemporary adult education and clinical issues
Ability to initiate, coordinate, and evaluate quality improvement initiatives in education and clinical environments
Excellent interpersonal skills
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to negotiate, develop, and deliver various training solutions, including end-user support, classroom training, presentations, and online learning
Adaptability to changing demands in a dynamic and evolving organisation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as autonomously and collaboratively
Proficiency in data gathering, analysis, and synthesis to inform changes in clinical practice and process
