An opportunity has become available for a Digital Services Officer to join our Spatial and Digital Services team at Georges River Council, based in Hurstville.
About the Role As the Digital Services Officer, you will be familiar with technical aspects, administration and vendor management of Council’s digital network portfolio including corporate websites, web portals, mobile app, and internal intranet. You will understand platform security to ensure our continued cyber safety on these platforms, be enthusiastic regarding automation and new technologies and be able to recommend future direction and trends for our digital platforms. You will be customer focussed and have excellent problem-solving skills along with project management skills. Experience with web content management systems, form creation including workflow design, and WCAG compliance requirements and implementation, is essential. Understanding and knowledge of procurement processes for contractors and their ongoing management will be a part of this role and experience with this will be highly regarded. You will be an experienced problem solver consulting with appropriate vendors and staff to achieve satisfactory conclusions for both our internal and external stakeholders. The IMT team contributions are vital to the achievement of Council's vision and corporate goals by supporting the development and implementation of key IT strategies, policies, and procedures for all IT systems. The successful candidate will have
Tertiary qualifications in an IT related field along with appropriate experience in digital platforms or similar.
Experience recommending new initiatives, innovation and industry trends to contribute to roadmaps for future development and enhance user experience.
Administration of websites, apps and portals and their associated web content management tools, user settings, security, statistics, WCAG standards, troubleshooting, hosting and development of platforms.
Demonstrated experience administering Sharepoint sites including upgrades and system implementations, integration with other corporate products, user management settings, user helpdesk, statistics, compliance standards, troubleshooting, security, hosting and development.
Proven experience procuring and managing appropriate Vendors for support services, hosting and specific projects using Council procurement procedures and standards. This ranges across websites, portals, apps and Sharepoint.
A high level of interpersonal skills for enhanced communication with development and support areas to achieve the best solutions for Council requirements.
Ability to develop forms to be used by internal and external customers using predefined corporate branding, liaising with appropriate staff within business units. Liaise with customers who have needs outside of standard procedures and formats.
Demonstrated experience developing procedural workflows to accompany forms, publishing permissions and general administrative requirements, ensuring automatic saving into records management systems.
Demonstrated high level computer skills and ability to use a variety of office-based software to allow for system documentation, actions and reports to be saved meeting corporate policy requirements.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high level verbal communication and influencing skills as well as a high level of written communication skills. This will be shown in your project management documentation and ongoing system documentation.
Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
Development of training materials and delivery of that training where required.
Experience as a technical lead in a project group to drive effective engagement and uptake.
Desirable
Programming experience in HTML, .NET, and ASP web scripting languages.
Experience formulating and assessing vendor management agreements and/or project scope documents and project management documentation.
