How will I help?
The Manager role will support Consumer Chief Data Office in the building of a robust data risk management capability to ensure strong data quality, data governance across the end-to-end customer data lifecycle.
This role will support with execution of Divisional Data Owner accountabilities as part of the Data Risk Management Policy to ensure strong data quality across the Consumer and Business Banking Division’s customer data.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the population of Customer Critical Data Elements and associated Data quality rules for Consumer and Business & Wealth Divisions.
- Work with stakeholders, including technology experts, product and application owners, and control and process owners, to map and assess business data flows. Act as an expert for customer data from its source to its use.
- Identify and assess key controls and control gaps or deficiencies over data quality throughout the data journey from origination to data consumption
- Working closely with Financial Crime, Institutional Banking and Lines of Business Data management teams to monitor and manage customer data risk and overall data strategy
- Work with Business Control and Monitoring (BCM) teams to review data usage, data quality rules and requirements and improve data controls through the implementation of control recommendations
- Supporting data change projects and initiatives to deliver strategic outcomes whilst ensuring they adhere to a high standard of documentation for data lineage, controls and monitoring.
- Understand and review root cause of data issues and work with other teams to determine credible pathways to fix data issue

What do I need?
- Data management and/or data risk and controls experience in banking or financial service.
- Proficiency in working with data, including CDE, data lineage, data quality, data governance, reconciliation, and load assurance.
- Knowledge of SAS, SQL/Teradata, query writing, and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in data analysis and communicating findings to non-technical users.
- A strong ability to work independently and take initiative with an analytical mindset, problem-solving ability
- Capacity to quickly understand business context and think through technical implications.
- Strong capability to facilitate and foster stakeholder relationships.
