The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Customer Support Officer within the Business Services Team in our Finance and Procurement Branch.
This is an ongoing, permanent position at the APS 5 classification level. The successful applicant will work out of our office in Belconnen, although flexible working arrangements (including a hybrid model of working from home and the office) applies.
About the role
Customer Support Officers in Business Services contribute to the ABS purpose by providing excellent customer service to enable effective, efficient and compliant service delivery to ABS business areas in regard to travel, purchasing cards, fleet and rideshare. They deliver services and provide information to stakeholders (both external and internal) and clients, in response to enquiries and requests across a range of business products and services. They assess customer needs, broker solutions and make appropriate referrals to achieve positive outcomes for the customer.
Responsibilities of a Customer Support Officer in Business Services include:
- client engagement and support across all ABS business areas (all states and territories)
- engagement with external providers of, and owners of (Whole of Government) travel and card arrangements
- assisting with the management of and education of customers in the use of corporate travel and credit card systems and processes
- compliance support and guidance about ABS and Commonwealth travel and credit card policies and procedures
- official passport and international visa support to clients
- card application and airline lounge membership processing
- calculation and processing of international travel allowances
- assist with the management of international SOS Travel Risk Provider arrangements
- support of rideshare arrangements, including Cabcharge vouchers
- undertaking regular acquittals and transaction audits as part of compliance reporting
- undertaking information releases, updating policies and procedures and associated documentation.
What we are looking for (selection criteria)
To be suitable you must have all of the following skills, qualities and experience:
- demonstrated experience, and understanding of Commonwealth (Whole of Government) Travel and Card arrangements/polices as applicable to public sector entity environments
- experience in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities to deliver travel and card services to clients and key stakeholders
- well-developed communication skills, together with an ability to solve problems and make sound judgements
- an ability to work effectively in a team environment to build and maintain productive working relationships.
