Primary objective
The Contracts Administration Officer, under the direction of the Director Contracts, supports the Transport Safety and
Services Work Unit in the effective operations of grants, procurement, contracts, MOVERS systems control and other office
administration services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide advice and assistance to Transport Safety and Services staff to enable informed decisions based on sound grant,
procurement and contract management principles, including the preparation of planning, tender, assessment and
contract management documents, in accordance with NT Government Procurement Framework and agency policies.
2. Provide performance and progress reports to management as required.
3. Continuously monitor work to ensure the quantity, quality and timeliness of outputs is equal to, or better than, the agreed
key performance indicators, whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and guidelines.
4. Provide executive level administration assistance and support to the Compliance Officer and Executive Director,
Transport Safety and Services as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated working knowledge/ability in managing end-to-end procurement and contract management processes
including knowledge of procurement policy and legislation.
2. High-level organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and complete tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
3. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a
wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
4. Reliable, highly motivated and able to work within a small team environment.
5. Demonstrated ability in reporting (budgets, finance, HR), ICT systems, records management and electronic diary
management.
6. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Certificate IV in Contract Management, Procurement and Contracting or business administration.
2. Knowledge and understanding of procedures involved in processing Ministerials, Cabinet Submissions and Legislative
Assembly Briefings to the required standard.
3. Current NT drivers licence.
