About the role:
As a Junior Community Liaison Officer, you will support our Project Community Relations Manager, starting at our M12 project office in Kemps Creek until it's completion. In December, you will transition to our Mamre Road Project, based in St Clair.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key part of our Project Communications team. Whether you're early in your communications career or just starting out, this is a unique chance to grow professionally while being mentored by a seasoned Communications expert.
Responsibilities:
- Support and implement, where appropriate, the strategic objectives of the Communication and Consultation Management Plan.
- Coordinate and assist in the management of project events, including community and stakeholder meetings, launches and media events, open days, workshops, Site BBQs, Guest Speaker, Team Building and other project related events.
- Update and maintain the Community Relations database including the data entry of Information line enquiries and complaints received. Staff 1800 number and respond to or close out enquiries and complaints.
- Assist with the preparation of communication materials, including brochures, letter notifications, flyers, newsletters, correspondence, media releases, web media, presentations, traffic alerts and other publications.
- Undertake public community engagement activities, including door knocks, staffing information centres and pop-up stalls, attending stakeholder meetings, and attending project meetings.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar role or in administration and customer service.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working at the project site level in the civil construction industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant experience in a similar role.
