Working with us

This is an exciting time to join the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). In its establishment phase, we are looking for outstanding individuals to embed robust systems and processes, deliver exciting and diverse projects and demonstrate innovation and commitment to integrity in the public service.

NACC staff work in a complex and dynamic setting where exceptional judgement and an ability to achieve results is critical.

Successful candidates will have the ability to cooperate, manage, lead and perform successfully across corporate and operational functions.

About this opportunity

The NACC has an Executive Support Officer position available for immediate filling in Canberra. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, Enabling Services, the Executive Support Officer (ESO) will be a central point of contact for the Enabling Services Branch.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the Branch, and the NACC more broadly.

Your experience and success will be characterised by your ability to provide high quality executive and administrative support in a confidential and sensitive environment.

Key activities
  • Provide executive support through various means including the prioritisation and management of emails, coordination of schedules, diary management, all aspects of booking travel and acquittal of expenses for the General Manager/Enabling Services Branch, organising stakeholder engagement and by screening and attending to a broad range of enquiries and requests, including matters of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • Maintain administrative support and information systems, accurate data and records management procedures as relevant to the role to ensure the effective operation of the office of the General Manager, the Enabling Services Branch and related functions of the NACC.
  • Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative, innovative and culturally safe workplace culture that supports strong connections across the NACC with trusted and collegiate engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Managing competing priorities and organising workflow for self and others while maintaining good attention to detail and ensuring deadlines are met across the Branch.
  • Serving as liaison with NACC staff (including senior management) to ensure a manageable flow of work and effective communication.
  • Establish, maintain and review processes and procedures to ensure ongoing efficiency and effectiveness with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for better practice and process improvement across the Branch
The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC’s positive workplace culture.
