The Approved Accounts section is made up of approx. 60 staff responsible for payment of Rehabilitation and Compensation invoices across Veterans’ Entitlements Act, Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act. Our team is a well skilled and diverse team dedicated to continuous improvement and the provision of subject matter expertise, we rely on each other’s knowledge and strengths to ensure high quality and timely advice is provided and achieve customer focussed results.
We operate an 1800 call line for accounts related queries with staff rostered from 8.30am to 5pm each weekday.
We work collectively and in conjunction with other sections across DVA to ensure financial management and compliance requirements are met.
Duties
- Act as first point of contact for accounts-related queries from the veterans and providers,
- Manage prioritisation of own workloads, checking accuracy of information and work, to effectively meet agreed targets and performance standards.
- Actively and constructively participate in team meetings.
- Build rapport and maintain internal and external relationships, respond to enquiries, provide straightforward advice on accounts matters; ensuring quality customer service.
- Manage customer expectations, identify and escalate issues.
- Perform other duties as required, including provision of operational and administrative support and advice to Team Leaders
Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
- The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
