As the Airports Communication Manager, you will be responsible for setting the communication strategic direction and for the delivery of communications in a dynamic, fast paced and complex environment. This role is instrumental in providing internal communications leadership and counsel to senior stakeholders. As part of this role, there will be a requirement to apply a systems thinking approach to communications that not only focuses on the business unit but also the broader Qantas Group.
This role will report to the Head of Change, Communication & Continuous Improvement, and will play a key role within the broader Global Airports team to develop and implement a communications strategy and implement communications plans targeting Global Airports strategic priorities. The role will be required to engage with multiple stakeholders to drive critical program outcomes through communication and engagement with the frontline.
You’ll have –
Extensive experience in internal, external, stakeholder communications role, or similar is essential
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders while navigating critical and conflicting objectives, particularly during time of business transformation activities
Demonstrated ability to translate strategic business issues into effective communications within a large and complex organisation
Strong and confident stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation
Exceptional written and digital communication skills
Ability to understand and translate strategic business issues into effective communications
Knowledge of the industrial relations framework, its application to the business unit and issues
Ability to drive a high-performance culture and spark engagement within an organisation
Broad knowledge of the Qantas Group or airport operations would be advantageous
Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Journalism or relevant working experience would be advantageous
