Primary objective
Provide high level administrative support for sector wide workforce planning and development policies, programs and initiatives; and assist
in the planning and implementation of initiatives that support reward and recognition programs, workforce performance and productivity.
Context statement
Strategic Workforce Planning and Development’s strategic remit is to: build and grow employee capability in the NTPS workforce, focusing
on core capability and leadership development; and deliver sector wide organisational and workplace culture initiatives and projects that
are contemporary, maximise employee engagement, and drive organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide support for workforce planning and development policies, programs and initiatives across the team, including with
administrative processes and financial and procurement requirements.
2. Manage the team’s generic email accounts.
3. Support and assist with the financial and procurement requirements of programs and initiatives.
4. Support the application process, judging and submission of nominations for reward and recognition and workforce development
initiatives.
5. Prepare a variety of correspondence, such as memorandums, ministerial briefings and reports.
6. Contribute to continuously improve efficient and effective administrative processes while managing busy and regularly changing
schedules and priorities.
7. Respond positively to change with a commitment to ongoing improvement and professional development.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Strong skills and experience in the use of ICT software and managing a database.
2. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in workplace administration, including financial and records management.
3. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to form and maintain collaborative, professional
partnerships with team members and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or events.
5. A high level of initiative and personal motivation, including the ability to think critically and problem solve.
6. High level written communication skills and experience.
7. Well-developed organisational skills with ability to adapt to changing priorities meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Desirable
1. Experience in the use of a Student Management or Learning Management System, such as My Learning.
2. Knowledge of contemporary workforce planning and development issues.
3. Knowledge of government ICT systems, and government policies and procedures, including records management, procurement and
financial management.
