What we offer
  • Salary packaging options up to $18,450 per annum tax free
  • Remote allowance of $3,300 per annum (if applicable)

About the role
As an Aboriginal Health Worker in Alice Springs, you will play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the local Indigenous community. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.
What you’ll be doing
  • Providing culturally appropriate healthcare and support services to Indigenous clients
  • Assisting with the coordination and delivery of primary healthcare programs
  • Building relationships with community members and facilitating access to essential health services
  • Advocating for the needs of the Indigenous community and collaborating with other healthcare providers
  • Maintaining accurate client records and contributing to the evaluation of program outcomes
  • Participating in community outreach initiatives and health promotion activities
What we’re looking for
  • Relevant experience in Aboriginal health work or similar role, providing culturally sensitive healthcare services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health and social issues affecting Aboriginal communities
  • Commitment to promoting the rights and wellbeing of Aboriginal people
Requirements
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory “Working with Children Clearance” (Ochre Card) upon commencement
  • Satisfactory criminal history check and no history of disqualification from employment by a legal practice
  • A current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
  • Ability to travel to remote communities to attend bush courts if required
