Overview:
The Learning and Development Manager provide service within the organization to implement all designated training or development programs. The programs would include, but are not limited to Onboarding, standards of service (SEVA) and LQA, supervisory and management development. Responsible for the motivation, recognition as well as assisting in coaching and counseling of colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, writes and coordinates training manuals working with Specialists for specific details. The training manuals should include course content, visual charts, videotapes, slides, or other aid material.
- Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
- Schedules training sessions within individual training programs ensuring facility setup, audio-visual setup and employee notification.
- Handle introductions of topic specialists at the start of training sessions and provides courses in such a way to stimulate and motivate attendees.
- Develops a means of measuring the effectiveness of departmental training programs through testing, etc.
- Liaise with departmental trainers to identify training needs and coordinate implementation of departmental training programs.
- Confer with management; supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
- Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
- Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
- Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
- Make suggestions on improving work procedures throughout the organization.
- Maintain trainee personnel records.
- Responsible for the overall directions, coordination, and evaluation of this hotel’s training programs.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the training department procedures.
- Responsible of the development or implementation of all motivation programs in the hotel.
- Maintain and update training database
- Track training certification and prepare certificates
- Prepare all materials for training classes, setup and breakdown of classes
- Order training materials and supplies as needed
- Filing all training paperwork
- Assist in the development and implementation of new training classes
- Assist in maintaining the staff of Departmental Trainers
- Produce the weekly employee newsletter
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management / Psychology or Luxury is required
- Desirable 2 years of experience at learning and development related positions.
- Must have the capacity of public speaking
- Proficient with computer programs Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Canva, etc.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
