Youth Leadership, Recreation in Elementary Schools
APEX Leadership Co. works with elementary schools throughout western Washington, creating enriching, motivating, and FUN experiences for children while supporting key fundraising initiatives. Are you someone who takes great accountability for yourself and others, who enjoys motivating youth through fun, fitness, and educational activities? APEX TEAM Member:
Apex Team Members are role models of encouragement and FUN! As a member of the Apex team, you will work in various elementary schools for 2-week program periods to inspire kids! You will deliver daily brief but powerful program leadership and character lessons in the classrooms. You will interact, mentor and have fun playing with students at recess! You will facilitate an exciting fitness-focused final event such as a Fun Run or Glow in the Dark Fitness Event with each 2-week school program. Our goal is to provide an awesome student leadership, character, mentoring, and fitness focused program for schools while helping them raise money for vital programs!
Apex Team Members are on campus at local elementary schools for 2-week program periods to inspire kids. You will be at a new elementary school every 2-weeks bringing the FUN and ENERGY to students!

Employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable law.
Job Type: Full-time
This position would go from January 6 – June 13, 2025. We would love for you to also commit to next school year (September 1, 2025 – June 14, 2026
Pay: $750.00 - $800.00 per week

Responsibilities:
- First and foremost, have FUN mentoring, interacting, presenting brief scripted classroom leadership lessons and having fun with students at recess.
- Inspire kids and be an excellent role model at all times.
- Create so much excitement and enthusiasm on the school campus during these two weeks that staff and students want you to stay for the entire school year!
- Experience within recreation/education services and/or youth development (teaching, coaching, mentoring, camp counselor, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to connect with kids while demonstrating patience and excitement when dealing with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication.
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain focus and control in chaotic environments.
- Resourceful and able to modify instructions as needed for students.
- Able to occasionally lift, pull and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have consistent access to a form of transportation and willingness to travel to various elementary schools in the surrounding areas of South King, Pierce, Thurston and Kitsap Counties.
- Valid Driver’s License

- Have excellent organizational, dependability and reliability skills!
