We are currently hiring a goal-oriented Yard Hostler in Buffalo, NY. The yard spotter drives trucks or tractors to and from vehicle parking and docking area to move, position, and park 53’ trailers. Move production material trailers on request to fulfill the just-in-time delivery method. Spots (positions) loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading, using tractor. Document all moves using the PINK trailer management system and communicates all moves to warehouse management.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for using an industrial tractor to move trailers as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping and receiving functions
Responsibilities include but are not limited to hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers in and out of doors, and securing and sealing outbound trailer doors
Will ensure all trailers are loaded or empty
Will assist drivers who have general inquiries such as yard locations or other questions and/or issues
Will always professionally represent the Company
Responsible for the daily inspection of industrial trucks and trailers, including safety checks while adhering to applicable regulations and procedures
Responsible for completing daily yard checks and always maintaining the accuracy of the yard through YMS. Will assist with the moving of materials throughout the warehouse when not moving trailers
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 1-year tractor/trailer experience (3 axle tractor, 53' trailer)
Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes, and at arm’s length, with or without correction
Valid driver’s license with Class A CDL
Excellent work ethic & team player – levelheaded, detail-oriented, safety contentious, courteous, flexible, punctual, professional, and customer-focused

Yard Hostler I - $24.44 - $27.20/hour
Yard Hostler II - $28.76 - $31.80/hour
Yard Hostler III - $31.25 - $36.32/hour
Yard Hostler IV - $33.93 - $41.47/hour
Yard Hostler V - $37.86 - $46.27/hour
