Job Summary
The Telemetry Nurse plays a critical role in monitoring patients with cardiac conditions and other health issues requiring close observation. This position involves utilizing advanced technology to assess patient data, ensuring timely interventions, and providing compassionate care. The Telemetry Nurse collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Duties

Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition or complications.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
Perform IV insertions and manage intravenous therapies as needed.
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (Epic) and maintain compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
Educate patients and families on health management, including family planning and care strategies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide support for senior care patients, addressing their unique needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
Stay informed about advancements in physiology knowledge relevant to patient care.

Skills

Proficient in the use of neonatal ventilators and other medical equipment related to telemetry nursing.
Strong patient assessment skills, enabling quick identification of critical changes in patient status.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to administer medications safely and effectively while understanding pharmacological principles.
Knowledge of Epic systems for documentation and data management is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with family planning concepts is a plus, enhancing holistic patient education efforts.
