This position has a pay rate of $51.584.00 annually

Oversees the supervision of foster homes, licensing staff, training and investigation activities, handling of intake process, initial placements, replacements and respite care arrangements, as required by state of Michigan law, contractual and licensing requirements and applicable service standards, through the provision of direct service by assigned staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide on-going leadership to staff in accordance with established policies and procedures and Integrity Plan. Partner with Human Resources in talent acquisition and retention efforts. Assist in preparation and implementation of relevant professional development, training and performance management.
- Recruit and maintain an adequate number and quality of foster homes for assigned service area, in accordance with program census, market demand, and organization and contractual requirements and standards. Oversee and maintain an accurate and daily updated list of foster homes with available vacancies.
- Coordinate the intake process and assignment of new cases to staff.
- Provide direct service as needed to ensure continuous service provision to clients, foster parents and pre-adoptive parents, as required by licensing and funding bodies.
- Review, correct and assist in writing all reports, assessments and correspondence and ensure that reports contain appropriate assessments and comply with regulations.
- Consult with casework and supervisory staff to assist in making replacement decisions; maintain support systems for foster families.
- Facilitate program related team meetings; serve and participate in center committees.
- Audit foster home files at least quarterly to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and licensing standards.
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of recruitment strategies; maintain statistical data related to service delivery outcomes and measurements; provide reports and data. Use effective recruitment strategies to meet the demands of the market as well as the programs census needs.

Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
- Master degree in Human Behavioral Science field preferred; or a Bachelor degree in a Human Behavioral Science field required.
- Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.
Experience
- Three years’ work experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function required.
Additional Work Requirements
- Valid unrestricted Michigan driver’s license with good driving record required. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
- May work extended hours with availability of flexible scheduling. Availability for events and activities beyond normal business hours required. Participate, as required, in a system of 24 hours availability to clients and foster parents.
