Arclabs Welding School is focused on creating employees for the welding industry. As a nationally accredited institution, Arclabs has high standards for our students. As a student recruiter you will recruit adult and high school prospective students, assess their educational needs and explain the benefits and objectives of the programs offered at Arclabs Welding School. Recruiting students for our dynamic institution requires a customer-focused attitude, an ability to meet challenges head-on and a passion for changing lives through skills training. The position requires the flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when needed. The main objective of this position to is keep the school at capacity with dedicated students who want to start a career in welding. Typical Duties and Responsibilities The following are examples of typical duties. Other duties may be assigned. Essential duties should be identified on a more specific working job description. · Serves as a member of the Admissions Team managing a recruitment territory to assist in achieving enrollment goals · Achieve student enrollment goal established by director for each starting class · Actively generates referral business to help maintain company goals · Executes recruitment strategies as outlined in the admissions plan in the assigned territory to include high school and/or community visits, job fairs, and special events · Initiates, plans, and executes special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the school · Works with students and parents to assist in the recruitment process, as well as SC Works workforce staff and Veterans Administration career counselors. · Provides admission presentations to visitors on the campus and conducts tours, informing of program requirements, student guidelines and expectations of tuition assistance. · Advise students and families of admission requirements, financial aid, scholarship information, and additional school information · Provides follow-up to students via phone, letter, email, and scheduled appointments · Reviews admission applications, evaluates credentials, and informs director of decisions that need to be made · Completes routine reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedules, travel, special programs, and professional development · Adheres to School policies and procedures · Be the first to greet students and answer the phone · Sets up appointments for the director with all SC Works Offices, Adult Learning Centers, Vocational High School, Veterans Administration and Job Connections for director · Prepare for special events when needed. · Assist applicants with the enrollment process · Complete weekly call reports · Follow-up with all students after workshops and career fairs · Maintain ethical recruiting standard Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · Knowledge of Microsoft including Word, Excel, and Power Point · Previous proven success in presenting sales or training material. · Demonstrates the ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity · Skill in effective communication and public presentations · Dynamic and energetic public speaker · Knowledge of issues pertaining to areas of assignment · Experience with and sensitivity to diverse populations · Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours · Some supervisory skills and training experience · Ability to represent the office and school in a professional manner · Maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy culture and climate at Arclabs Welding School · Must possess strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with prospective students and their families Education and/or Experience Typically requires a bachelor’s degree. Required sales experience is typically 2 years in admissions, recruiting, or sales. Work experience in skilled trades, especially welding preferred but not required.
