Job Overview: The Specimen Collector has responsibilities and duties related to patient care in a laboratory setting. The individual must display behaviors that comply with the clinic's strict privacy and confidentiality of patient and clinic information, as well as communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients. The UA Collector must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of their job description.
Primary Responsibility:
Specimen collection, including urine samples, at various sites with VMW partners
Preform lab duties including but not limited to: handling specimens, urine rapid drug testing, and shipping specimens
Label creation and data entry into LIMS and/or EMR system
Verify patient identity and obtain patient demographics
Complete lab requisition forms
Appropriately label and ship specimens
Confirms and clarifies physician and lab orders
The UA Collector reports to the Clinic Coordinator.
Communicate with patients through the clinics Patient Portal/Klara.
Performs related and delegated tasks,
Works with health care team to assure efficient patient flow and clinical operation.

Valid Vehicle registration and insurance
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
Requires: High school diploma or GED
Additional Position Details: (hours, locations, commute)
Ability to facilitate for up to 10 hours a day
Ability to travel up to 50% to cover clinics as needed.
Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work on a holiday as part of a rotation and float to other VMW locations as needed.
