Compensation is contingent on skill and experience ranging from $70,000-$90,000.
Curtis Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for a Field Sales Engineer at our location in Fredericksburg, VA.
Summary: The CPS Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, and evaluating practices and facilities to ensure compliance with legal guidelines. Will conduct training sessions, monitor compliance, investigate accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement. Heavy job-site presence to provide awareness of proper all facets of Power Gen safety concerns. They also communicate guidelines to employees, report on health and safety issues, and develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace. Their focus is on promoting occupational health and safety and minimizing risks for employees. Additionally, this role will focus on developing training programs and forecasting future training to meet OEM requirements and to expand our service capabilities; facilitating formal classroom, hands on, and web-based training; supporting corporate goals for safety, growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Ride with Technicians and promote proper training initiatives.
- These policies and procedures include both written and understood.
- This position requires travel and an estimated minimum travel of 25% of time would be spent to meet training needs and support of all CPS locations.
Training Certifications & Documentation
- Successfully complete and actively maintain specific certifications for required safety & OEM maintenance training.
- Provide required training information and documentation to support bids and customer required documentation.
Personnel Staffing & Development
- Develop and implement programs for administering mechanical aptitude testing for new hire technicians to evaluate capabilities and classification.
- Create/maintain relationships with internal leadership teams to assist with the effective communication and development of specific training courses to meet organizational needs.
- Facilitate technical and customer service skills training for customer facing personnel.
- Conduct training sessions in formal classroom, web environment, and hands on for current CPS employees and new hires.

Evaluate student performance and conduct proficiency testing. Complete training reports
with recommendations to branch management on development paths.
- Participate in technician recruitment programs to vocational schools.
- Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
- Share technical knowledge, service bulletins, new product releases and other printed and verbal information with the appropriate personnel. The goal being the overall increase of relevant knowledge and ability within the operation.
Administration & Supporting Corporate Goals
- Maintains, develops, and administers training materials & aids.
- Maintains corporate training documentation and training forecasts.
- Perform jobsite visits for random safety audits or to conduct a jobsite risk assessment.
- Provide OEM diagnostic software management and support.

- Electrical or mechanical engineering degree preferred
- This position requires occasional driving
