Job Summary:

Job Summary:
The RN in the Cath Lab will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety, and delivering high-quality care throughout the diagnostic and interventional processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and current health status.
- Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare patients for cath lab procedures by providing education, answering questions, and ensuring informed consent.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during procedures, ensuring prompt intervention as needed.
- Assisting in Procedures: Assist physicians during catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures.
- Post-Procedure Care: Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain, and educating patients and families on aftercare.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting procedures, assessments, and any complications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including infection control measures.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience: Previous experience in a cath lab, critical care, or related area preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology related to cardiac procedures.
- Fast-paced clinical setting within a hospital’s cath lab.
- May require standing for extended periods and lifting patients.
Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
