Riverside - Blaster Helper

Description:
Assist the Blaster with design, layout, prepare, and detonate planned explosive related blasts with correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective use of explosives to dislodge limestone from the mine in alignment with company policy/guidelines. Assist the Blaster with inspecting the blasting area and magazines, check equipment, and help maintain the area to ensure that all laws and safety regulations are followed.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Assist the Blaster in the implementation of safety programs to ensure the safety of employees
Assist the Blaster in the Pre-Shift inspection
Assist the Blaster in the Lay out pattern to and determine depth and diameter of blast holes and quantity of explosives needed
Assist the Blaster in Loading explosives in blast holes
Assist the Blaster in Connecting wire, detonating cords, fuses into series and connect series to detonate charges
Assist the Blaster in Handling, store, track, and transport explosives in accordance with company policy and regulations
Assist the Blaster in Maintaining accurate data/records/documentation
Assist the Blaster with Ensuring compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations
Other duties as assigned
