Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procurement of raw materials, services and MRO items. This person will need to be skilled, and results driven with a can-do attitude. This is a critical role and requires someone who has success in building relationships with suppliers, companies, and other employees.

Overview:

This is a critical role and requires someone who has success in building relationships with suppliers, companies, and other employees.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for procurement of raw materials including steel and aluminum, services, and MRO items.
- Manage assigned commodities and suppliers to achieve cost objectives while minimizing exposure.
- Identify cost reduction and value improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, on time deliveries, costing and quality.
- Manage system data integrity i.e., lead time, supplier contact, safety stock, min/max levels.
- Ability to negotiate contracts and services with suppliers.
- Execute MRP driven requirements.
- Understand/monitor State/Federal/OSHA laws in assigned commodity groups.
- Support Internal/External customers.
- Source new local suppliers for raw materials, services, and assist in the validation process.
- 5-7 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Negotiation strategies.
- Sourcing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using the MRP modules within an ERP System.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Ability to handle a heavy workload and changing priorities.
- Ability to multi-task.
- CPM or CPIM a plus.
