Job Summary Seeking a strategic and detailed oriented Procurement Director to join our team. As Procurement Director, you will oversee the purchasing of raw materials, equipment, and services necessary for the production of products. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services
Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure materials meet specifications and production schedules
Oversee the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with company financial goals
Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain activities
Qualifications - Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry
Must have plastics purchasing experience
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus
