We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various machinery and equipment while ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Summary: The powder-coat operator is responsible for applying powder coating to a variety of manufactured or purchased parts, using spray guns. The powder-coat operator is responsible for proper selection of powder coat colors and basic maintenance of the equipment used in the process. The position requires knowledge of products and the ability to identify mistakes. Must be reliable and hardworking with great communications skills and be able to meet deadlines. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: · Safely operate assigned processing equipment. · Maintain a safe environment by being aware of potential hazards and hazardous materials. · Perform quality inspections (QC) on components and assemblies being processed. · Examine finished product to verify conformance to specifications, then retouch any defective areas. · Plan and lay out work to meet production requirements, following work schedules. · Read work orders or instructions. · Verify and keep records as required. · Clean and maintain tools and equipment. · Monitor consumables inventory and notify leads, supervisors, or managers when levels are low. · Keep the department area clean and organized. · Work with other departments as needed and required. · Stock items in their appropriate places as needed. · Communicate issues with production to leads, supervisors or managers. · Ensure the work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. · Report defective materials, process, or questionable conditions to leads, supervisors, or managers. · Assist in maintaining inventory for the paint and powder coating and the handling of products produced by the finishing processes. · Provide advice and/or training to other operators. · Identify and recommend areas of improvement. · Be available to work outside of normal operating hours including weekends, holidays, etc. if needed. · Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Requirements: None Education: · High School Diploma or equivalent. · 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications: · Proven experience as a powder-coat operator or other related position. · Ability to read, write and interpret documents. · Ability to use basic Math. · Ability to use common sense in understanding tasks and resolving issues. · Knowledge of the safety, legal and handling procedures of goods. · Excellent communications skills. · Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities. · Ability to be forklift certified.
