Position Purpose: Stamping Pit Cleaner will be responsible to keep a pit area (under Stamping Presses) clean and tidy at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
Works safely and professionally around moving equipment.
Consistently arrive on time, fit to work every day as scheduled.
Support clean-up of equipment and 5S of production areas.
Clean hydraulic oil from floor in pit area. Machines in the area leak continually and this 2-person team will need to clean floor using squeegee tools and Simple Green cleaner daily.
Stamping Pit conveyors drop lightweight sheet metal scrap pieces onto floor daily. This 2-person team is responsible to pick up and/or sweep sheet metal scrap pieces and place back on conveyors or into piles to be removed by magnet crane operator.
Clean trash of all types from area, keeping the pit area clean and orderly at all times. Pit should remain ready for a management walk-through each day.

Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with Leadec manager and customer employees.

Willingness to assist in the training of others on necessary skills to perform cleaning tasks.
No previous experience is required.

Position Qualifications:

No previous experience is required.
Work ethic, integrity, and attendance are the most highly valued qualifications.
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:

Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces from 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment
Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment.
Will use brooms, rakes, and squeegees to push and pull hydraulic oil, cleaners, and scrap sheet metal pieces.
Will be standing or walking for all shift except for paid lunches and breaks.
Will need to wear long pants and shirts, steel toe work boots, cut-resistant Kevlar sleeves and gloves, ear protection, and safety glasses.
Must be able to lift lightweight sheet metal scrap pieces from floor and place into spaces at or slightly above shoulder-level.
Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per day.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs periodically for 2-3 minutes each time. Floor cleaner is carried and applied by using 5 gallon buckets.
