Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Ensures all care providers on Labor and Delivery adhere to national clinical standards and principles and practice of safety. Keeps staff up to date on Perinatal Safety Initiatives, including education, training, implementation, policies. Develop and support the implementation of education/action plans to address events that are reported in the event reporting system. Partners with hospital informatics department to design, implement, and project leadership activities, of one or more of the organization's nursing information systems. Partners with ancillary departments to identify and achieve department and project goals. Partners with the IT department to insure smooth integrations. Ensures data/information is current with regulatory agency standards as well as best practice standards for service areas. Responsible for assessment and evaluation of processes and technology. Participates in performance improvement activities by identifying issues and assisting with gathering and evaluating data, including corporate data entry. Review patient charts and fetal monitor strips and provide feedback to staff on findings. Remains current on literature and is a resource to staff and providers on this literature.
Project Management:
- Planning/development/implementation/upgrading/maintenance/ evaluation of healthcare informatic programs
- Revising/implementing changes in automated and manual components of informatic programs
- Participates in work to maintain and revise components of informatic programs
Customer Support:
- Develop/document and lead processes for multi-disciplinary end-user input
- Provides proactive user support
- Maintains open communication among user groups to determine issues/problem areas and facilitate resolution
- Communicates issues with team members, leadership and IT
- Provides research and education to care providers within Women's services to allow for compliance with national clinical standards and principles and evidence based practice.
- Provides education and follow up on patient safety issues.
Evidence Based Practice:
- Participates in systems analysis and research related to current and proposed healthcare informatic programs
- Accurately and promptly analyze the impact of IT in clinical work processes
- Ensures data and information/information is current with regulatory agency standards as well as best practice standards for the service area.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of data base.
- Facilitates data collection, reporting and action planning of quality assurance measures.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Experience:
Recent experience in Perinatal Nursing required. Working knowledge of in house systems required.
Education:
BSN
Licensure:
AZ RN or compact state required.
Skill Sets:
- Must have an in-depth ability to operate various computer programs including: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access.
- Experience in product troubleshooting as related to hospital or vendor servers, database reporting and management, learning standards, Authorware, etc.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent presentation skills and conflict resolution skills required.
Pay Range
$38.81 - $56.28 /hour
