Pediatric Trauma Program Manager and Performance Improvement Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the quality of care provided to the Pediatric patient from injury through the continuum of care. This position will also require that the TPM maintain current knowledge regarding the standards set forth by American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. The TPM must be skilled in professional nursing practice, clinical management of injured patients, and Trauma Performance Improvement process. The TPM coordinates all aspects of Pediatric Trauma care as it relates to the process of designation.The Performance Improvement Coordinator (PI) uses advanced skills in quality assessment to perform comprehensive quality of care and trauma service audits to develop standards, data sources and tools. Provides education to staff and patients, ensures resolution of issues and participates in quality improvement projects as it relates to the trauma program. Ensures accuracy in trauma registry by accurate data collection and entry. Assists in day-to-day patient education and ensures protocol use.
Supports the Trauma Department as needed on a day-to-day basis.
Education:
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master’s Degree in Nursing, or Commiserate experience preferred. Knowledge in the care of the Pediatric Trauma Patient preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years leadership experience with at least 5 years trauma experience preferred. Demonstrated problem solving skills and investigative skills.Latest Job Opportunities
