Perform proficiently in different aspect of multiple plant duties. Provide relief in jobs and learn duties of production, packaging, sanitation, and other roles as assigned.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include highly skilled / senior-level processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/ Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs
. Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
. Assist with training efforts in functional area as needed
. Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format
. Engage in problem solving to assist in improving production, safety, quality, and yields
. Ensure operational efficiencies by positioning work, setting up of jobs, adjusting and operating equipment for proper functions and manufacturing of product
. Perform quality monitoring of statistical information and report on variations to supervisor and lab
. Inspect and identify any issues and perform preventative maintenance when needed
. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
. Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
. Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
. 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/production experience needed, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry
. Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

. Able to follow directions and carry out instructions

. Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
