*Overview*
Prior experience working in a surgical tech position is necessary.
We are seeking a PRN/Flexi Operating Room Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment, providing support to the surgical team, and maintaining high standards of patient care.
*Duties*
- Prepare and maintain the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are sterile and ready for use.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure effective communication regarding patient needs and care plans.
- Participate in emergency procedures as required, demonstrating knowledge of basic life support protocols.
- Assist in pediatric surgeries, ensuring age-specific considerations are met for patient safety.
*Qualifications*
- Certification as an Operating Room Technician or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques is required.
- Experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with suture techniques and handling of surgical instruments is a plus.
- Proficient understanding of operating room systems and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff and ensure patient safety.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field.
- Sterilization tech experience is a plus
