Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ONLINE SUCCESS COACH to work independently and collaboratively to ensure the provision of a wide range of online services to a diverse body of online undergraduate and graduate students. To work closely with students to ensure academic success. To perform a variety of administrative and student-interactive functions to manage processes to address personal or academic concerns. To organize and implement student outreach activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Works in collaboration with academic departments, student support services and various University staff/administration to assist students who are experiencing personal or academic concerns.
2. Organizes and implements student outreach activities to maximize student potential.
3. Identifies and refers students to resources in areas such as technical support, academic tutoring and library support for the purpose of academic success.
4. Organizes and acts on data to support student retention in online courses and programs.
5. Monitors the progress of students and offers proactive support and outreach to at risk students through technology-based teaching and communication platforms to aid students in their academic progress.
6. Runs reports and creates reporting documents as necessary.
7. Counsels students on ramifications of course withdrawal (student or administratively initiated) on degree completion and academic standing, as well as financial consequences.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary: $43,890 - $71,320)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
