Position Overview
The Tenter Operator position is a non-exempt, hourly position responsible for operating the Monforts Tenter Frame to heat-set fabric. The Tenter Operator must be able to operate a sewing machine, a crane, and slitters.
What you'll do
- Review log book to learn of issues encountered by previous shift
- Follow all work instructions
- Machine Start-up procedures
- Load fabric onto the machine with a crane, set the machine to the correct settings with the computer, tenter the fabric
- Use the crane to place new pole at the exit end of the machine, remove completed roll and place on cart
- Disassemble the machine and clean it once per week
- Assume, in addition such other duties as assigned by the Production Team Manager
Who you are
- 1 Ability to work 8:00PM to 8:00AM
- 2 GED or High School Diploma and company issued Forklift license
- 3 Ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds
- 4 Ability to push/pull up to 1,000 lbs. on pallet jack
- 5 Ability to work with minimal supervisory direction
- 6 Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
- 7 Ability to work in an environment where temperature varies in range
- 8 Ability to tolerate moderate to loud plant noise levels
