Responsibilities:
Assure that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to Berry quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner by operating, trouble shooting, documenting and communicating molding conditions.
1. Capable of performing machine start-up, shut-down, color changes, and any necessary
processing changes to ensure that the machines are running at the proper efficiency and that
the product is in conformance.
2. Capable of performing daily mold and machine PM’s per procedures.
3. Monitor and repair all auxiliary equipment and notify maintenance department of any issues
with any machines or equipment.
4. Verify that the machine cycle, cavitation, and set-up parameters are correct.
5. Record performance of machines and any adjustments made.
6. Work with the QA department to prevent any nonconforming product.
7. Maintain machine cleanliness, and perform mold, machine, and equipment repairs as needed.
8. Perform any housekeeping duties as assigned by the Supervisor, or Acting Supervisor.
9. Assist Supervisor, or Acting Supervisor as needed.
10. Assist in the training of other personnel as needed.
11. Properly label scrap gaylords and ensure content integrity.
12. Follow all Safety, Food Safety and GMP practices.
Qualifications:
The Mold Technician will lead by example and will perform supervisory tasks such as designating Packer/Handlers and other team members to proper locations.
1. Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
2. Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting in a fast
paced environment.
3. Possess functional knowledge of injection molds, injection molding machines, injection molding
processes, mold setups, and
statistical process control.
4. Possess a minimum of three years of injection molding experience, including processing.
5. Possess basic hand tools and the knowledge to use them.
6. Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working overtime as
required.
7. Capable of training others as needed.
8. Must possess a strong commitment to the Company and to the production of quality product.
