Medical Coder

Job Summary
The Medical Coder is a Certified Professional Coder who is responsible for managing all aspects of coding. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare billing regulations and coding guidelines. The Medical Coder is a professional who possesses a high level of knowledge, skill, and experience in increasingly complex areas of revenue cycle.

Education and Experience Required

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience ICD-10 coding Mental Health/Substance abuse billing codes preferred.
• Experience with Next Gen Electronic Health Record preferred.
• Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding with at least 1 year of experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain coding logic.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently as part of a team
• Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist Professional (CCS-P) with at least 1 year of experience.
• Valid identification required.
