The Marketing and Development Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP), Diocese of Cleveland, in addition to strategizing and managing the organization’s public relations and marketing activities. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Development Coordinator will be responsible for achieving fundraising goals, event management and engaging sponsors in ongoing service activities. This includes leveraging key relationships and contacts within and outside of SVDP to ensure meeting revenue goals. Work will vary widely from events, to solicitation to grant writing.
Development Responsibilities:
Help to develop and implement the annual development plan and strategy
Plan, lead and manage overall development efforts to generate annual revenues
Train and lead others (mostly volunteers) to support fundraising and marketing efforts
Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate & foundation sponsors, and individual donors
Prepare and deliver presentations to donors and the SVDP board
Write grant proposals and reports to corporate, foundation, and government funders
Utilize a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases
Cultivate major gifts
Manage donor software on behalf of SVDP (experience with Donor Snap a plus)
Marketing/PR Responsibilities:
Strategize and manage the organization’s promotional and marketing activities
Lead the organization’s social media and PR efforts
Supervise production of organization’s collateral materials
Manage the organization’s website
Manage/update the organization’s Constant Contact email database
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent prior experience. Understanding of Catholic Church, community service and the non-profit profession a plus.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of fundraising, direct sales or business development experience in a service industry or with a non-profit; emphasis on corporate sponsorships or corporate sales is a plus
Proven track record of achieving revenue targets
Proven management and leadership capabilities
Experience working with executives in a corporate environment
High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thorough understanding of strategic development
Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate and manage new donors
Strong partnership-building and event planning skills
Additional Software Experience (beneficial but not an immediate requirement)
Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop and In Design) or equivalent
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
